What is bot detection?
Bot detection covers a family of commercial systems that score or challenge incoming traffic. They divide into two kinds with very different implications: interactive challenges you might clear in session, and invisible reputation scores you cannot. Twin fingerprints which vendor turned a run away and classifies the wall accordingly.
Why it matters
Naming the wall is what makes the next step rational rather than superstitious. Retrying a challenge on a better browser profile is sometimes right; retrying a score wall the same way is spending money on an outcome that will not change.
